End of Year Specials!

June 3, 2020

Dear Residents and Staff,

On May 28, 2020 Governor Brian Kemp chose to issue a state of emergency for Georgia for the third time on July 12, 2020. Governor Kemp shared, “The shelter in place order for Georgians who are sixty-five and older or medically fragile will continue through June 12, 2020 with exceptions for necessary activities, including work, medical appointments, grocery shopping, home health services, and related categories. I want to thank all of those who have followed this advice and those who have helped vulnerable loved ones navigate these difficult times. In this executive order, we continue to strongly encourage all Georgians and visitors to wear face coverings in public to mitigate viral spread, and restrictions remain intact for nearly every Georgia business to keep employees and customers safe.”

Based upon the updated information that has been received, Baptist Retirement Communities will begin to loosen restrictions for our properties with the following guidelines as listed below:

Internal Groups Gatherings may increase up to 25 people, but individuals must remain 6 feet apart, preferably continuing to wear face masks.

Beginning June 12, 2020

Apartment Tours will resume June 12, 2020. All guests are required to complete health screening, including temperature check, and to wear masks (gloves if available) during time of visit.

On-site, Internal Vendor Work Any internal vendor work may resume on June 12, 2020 with specific guidelines. All vendors are required to wear mask (gloves if available) during time of on-site, internal visit. As in the past, the vendor company must provide BRCGA with a written safety protocol that addresses COVID-19.

Tenants that have been traveling abroad and ALL (including apartments) New Move-Ins Tenants are strongly encouraged to wear masks (gloves if available) while on any of the BRCGA properties for a minimum of 5 days after arrival while in gathering areas, activity buildings, or apartment buildings.

Resident Families
Resident family members are encouraged to wear masks, practice cough/sneeze etiquette, and practice social distancing. If family members or guests show signs of illness or have a fever, they will be asked to reschedule their visit.

Palmetto Park Dining Room
Palmetto Park Dining Room will remain closed until a full release of the Shelter in Place to safely serve residents without social distancing guidelines. Renovations will begin in main dining room within the next few weeks. All vendors are required to wear masks (gloves if available) during time of on-site, internal visit, when outside of the dining room. As in the past, the vendor company must provide BRCGA with a written safety protocol that addresses COVID-19. The main dining room will be opened on a later date to be determined. Management is awaiting the time frame from vendor to begin millwork.

Beginning July 1, 2020

Outside Volunteers or Groups will be allowed to return to properties beginning July 1, 3030. Social Distancing may still be required during this time.

Off-Campus Trips will resume with no more than one trip per week beginning July 1, 2020.

Thank you for your continued support during these trying times. We ask for your continued prayers as management begins to slowly reintroduce a more normal routine into the communities. Please continue to do your best in adhering to the Mask/Glove Protection, Hand-washing Procedures, and Cough/Sneeze Etiquette that staff and residents were initially trained on until further notice.

Thank you for your continued flexibility and patience as we all strive to keep our BRCGA communities healthy and well!

May God Continue to Bless and Protect each of you.

Sharalene Roper, Vice President
