COVID-19 UPDATE

March 30, 2021

Dear Residents and Staff,

The BRCGA communities have faced a challenging year with perseverance, vigilance, and hope. Many within our communities have now received or are receiving the COVID-19 vaccination. As the world around us continues to shift, BRCGA must also continue to remain flexible to best serve the residents, staff, and guests. Based upon the updated information that has been received from the CDC and local health officials, Baptist Retirement Communities has created the following guidelines as listed below:

Internal Groups Gatherings may increase up to 50 people, but individuals must remain 6 feet apart. All participants are required to wear face masks, adhere to cough/sneeze etiquette, and follow proper handwashing procedures while in BRCGA public spaces. Fully vaccinated tenants may visit with other fully vaccinated tenants in apartments or cottages and not wear masks, but social distance no less than 6 feet.

Apartment Tours have resumed at all properties. All guests are required to complete health screening, including temperature check, and to wear masks (gloves if available) during time of visit.  Any guests experiencing any signs of illness or fever will be asked to reschedule their visit

On-site, Internal Vendor Work Internal vendor has resumed with specific guidelines.  All vendors are required to wear mask (gloves if available) during time of on-site, internal visit.  As in the past, the vendor company must provide BRCGA with a written safety protocol that addresses COVID 19

Tenants that have been traveling abroad and ALL (including apartments) New Move-Ins  Tenants that have traveled abroad -OR- New Move-Ins must adhere to one of the following:

Resident Families

Family members may now visit with their loved ones. Masks, social distancing, and all COVID safety precautions will continue to be required while on BRCGA properties. If family members or guests show signs of illness or have a fever, they are required to reschedule their visit. This will remain in effect until BRCGA reassesses the COVID situation.

Palmetto Park Dining Room

Palmetto Park Dining Room will begin to provide breakfast only in the main dining room beginning April 12, 2021, seven days a week. The dining times for the breakfast will be extended from 6:30 a.m. through 8:30 a.m. Seats will not be initially assigned. All remaining meals will continue to be delivered until further notice. Based on the survey checklist, any remaining residents that chose to eat their meals in their units will have their breakfast delivered to their room at 6:30 a.m.

Outside Volunteers or Groups

Outside volunteer groups of up to 50 people may gather on campus, but individuals must remain 6 feet apart.

Off-Campus Trips

Buses and/or vans have a limited capacity to prevent any possible COVID-19. All passengers are required to wear a mask at all times while riding on the bus or van. The local community management will determine the start date and types of allowable trips.

Thank you for your willingness to adhere to the updated BRCGA guidelines. Please continue to do your best in adhering to the Mask/Glove Protection, Handwashing Procedures, and Cough/Sneeze Etiquette that staff and residents were initially trained on until further notice.

Your continued support, gracious attitude, and prayers during this unprecedented season in our nation’s history is invaluable. May we continue to be vigilant in prayer and steadfastness as we strive towards protecting the BRCGA communities.

May God Continue to Bless and Protect each of you,

Sharalene Roper

Vice President
